Learn How Our Co-op Works

When and Where?
We meet Thursdays from 9:45-2:00 pm. Morning classes are run between 10-12:15 with optional extracurriculars after lunch until 2pm.

Co-op is in session for two terms. Fall term spans from Sept-Dec. Spring term spans from Feb-May.

How Much?
Each family is required to make a financial commitment of $100 for the year at the time of enrollment. This covers costs of supplies to keep our co-op running. Families joining later in the year will be given a prorated enrollment.

In addition to a financial commitment it is also the expectation that parents will contribute in a meaningful way to the co-op in one or more of the following ways: teaching a class, assisting with a class, volunteering on a committee, assisting with cleaning classrooms and shared spaces.

FAQ
What is the HSJJ Co-op?
The Homeschoolers of St. Jeanne Jugan Parish is a Catholic homeschooling co-op. Students are invited to explore faith, science, the arts, to learn practical skills, and to cultivate lasting relationships through weekly classes rooted in the Catholic faith and educational field trips. This group is meant to supplement the home education efforts of each family and provide community among homeschooling families.
This is not a playgroup or drop-in program. Our co-op requires regular, weekly attendance and participation from families.
Is this a drop off program?
No. Parents are expected to stay on campus for the duration of the co-op and to volunteer their time in a teaching or administrative capacity.
Can anyone join?
HSJJ welcomes all families to our co-op. While our mission is rooted in sharing and nurturing the Catholic faith, families of all backgrounds who respect our mission and values are welcome to participate.
New families will be accepted to the co-op as space allows within each age group. As a co-op created for homeschooling families, priority enrollment is given to those who plan to homeschool their children.
What classes can we expect?
Examples of classes we have offered are: faith, nature study, handcrafts, science, geography, history, and Spanish. We are always expanding our curriculum based on teacher availability and student interest.

Can I check out the co-op before committing?
Yes! Send an email to HomeschoolSJJ@gmail.com to learn when we are offering shadow days.
